After every Bad Alibi Burlesque show, I think “Well, what could be better than this?” and somehow each show keeps getting better. I’m always amazed and proud of our community, the performers, the stage staff, and our audience. It has been such a delight to see these performers grow, to have new babes join the scene, and blow us away with fresh concepts and tricks on stage. Now that I’ve said the obvious, what keeps impressing me most is the audience. When I was putting the first Bad Alibi show together I had a vision of focusing on plus size and underrepresented bodies, and I wasn’t entirely sure how it was going to go over. I was pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed with support from all of you. Each show, you keep showing up with great attitudes excited for the show and I hear your inspired chatter on your way out. It gives me a real sense of joy and accomplishment when I see fresh eyes in the audience that have that spark of “Oh, that person looks like me, that means I could do this too!” and it makes me a little weepy eyed, because it’s that moment that inspired these shows. It makes a world of difference to us to have cheerleaders like you with everything going on *gestures to the world in general* and I will take every drop of dopamine I can get. This was a really long winded way of saying thank you for showing up, and I appreciate you.
